MANILA – Marjorie Barretto couldn’t be any happier as projects continue to pour in not just for young star Julia Barretto, but also for her youngest daughter Claudia.
Over the weekend, Julia’s new TV commercial was launched, while her sister Claudia was also tapped as an endorser.
“I had another proud Mommy moment yesterday when Julia's new Ponds commercial was launched, and Claudia was welcomed and introduced by Julia as a new Ponds girl during the #PondsBesties Soirée. Thank you Lord for blessing my children,” Marjorie said on Instagram.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News’ MJ Felipe at the sidelines of the event, Marjorie said she will support whatever her daughters decide to pursue.
“Kung ano naman ang gusto ng mga anak ko, whatever their dreams are, I’ll always be there to back them up pero kung ako ang masusunod, ayaw ko na sila mag-artista,” she said.

Asked if Claudia has any plans to follow Julia’s footsteps, Marjorie said: “She’s pretty serious with her studies so feeling ko I don’t have to worry about her entering show business. Gusto lang niya maybe someday hosting, maybe singing pero pag-aartista hindi pa niya nababanggit.”
Marjorie said Claudia sees how tiring Julia’s job is and that may be one of the reasons why she is not keen on joining showbiz.
“Ayaw niya mag-showbiz. She wants doing endorsements, not show business,” she said. “Siguro nakita din niya kung gaano kahirap ang trabaho ni Julia. She also sees the seriousness of the showbiz world.”
But is Julia ready to share the limelight with her sister once Claudia finally decides that she also wants to be an actress?
“I’m okay with whatever she’s okay with. I’m just going to be there behind her sa kahit anong gusto nyiang tahakin may it be music or acting,” Julia said.
The 18-year-old Barretto said she considers Claudia as her best friend and nothing can break their bond.
“My sisters are really my best friends. At the end of the day, sila talaga ang tinatakbuhay ko for anything. I feel the support,” said Julia.
