MANILA, Philippines - American news agency Associated Press committed a faux pas when it reported Monday that hotel heiress Paris Hilton is set to meet with "president" Manny Pacquiao.

AP, which had yet to correct the error as of posting, issued the news advisory for clients regarding the Hollywood celebrity's visit to the Philippines.

"Reports say that the popular model may also meet with president Manny Pacquiao and his wife," AP said.

Pacquiao, the boxing superstar, is a congressman of Sarangani province. He has been rumored to be eyeing the country's presidency.

Malacañang, meanwhile, denied on Monday that Hilton will meet President Benigno Aquino III during her stay in Manila.

"President Aquino is NOT meeting Paris Hilton. NO courtesy call," deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte  said on microblogging site Twitter.

"There was NO call scheduled AT ALL, thus nothing to cancel," she said.

"As @dawende (Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda) said in the briefing, the President is attending to matters of state," Valte added.
