MANILA -- Veteran actors Eddie Garcia and Ai-Ai Delas Alas were recognized for their respective performances in this year's Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival during the awards night on Sunday at the Cultural Center pf the Philippines.

Garcia was named best actor for his role in the film "ML," while Delas Alas was named best actress for her performance in "School Service."

Carlo Catu's "Kung Paano Hinihintay Ang Dapithapon," took home four awards, including best film, best production design, best cinematography and best screenplay.

Meanwhile, Ketchup Eusebio was named best supporting actor for his role in "Mamang," while Therese Malvar was named best supporting actress for her roles in "Distance" and "School Service".

Carlo Francisco Manatad's "Jodilerks Dela Cruz, Employee of the Month" was named best short feature film.
