MANILA – Singer-actress Sarah Geronimo had to make another difficult decision after former South Border member Maki Ricafort and theater actor Hans Dimayuga gave a moving performance as the battle rounds of “The Voice of the Philippines” continued on Sunday.
On Saturday’s episode, Geronimo was also torn between four-chair turner Michaellen Temporada and Eva delos Santos before eventually choosing the veteran “Mommy Eva” to move on the live performances.
Ricafort and Dimayuga were given the R&B ballad “What About Love” by Lemar and their performance earned a rare standing ovation from Broadway star Lea Salonga.
Gary Valenciano, who is helping Geronimo’s team, also praised both contestants, who also played instruments for the number. Dimayuga played guitar, while Ricafort played keyboards.
“Pinapahirapan ninyo kami, lalo na ako. Parang dito ako magkaka-high blood,” Geronimo said. “Pareho po kayong magaling. Grabe ‘yung originality niyo at ng puso niyo habang kumakanta kayo ng love song. Ramdam ramdam ko kayong dalawa.”
But concurring with Salonga and Bamboo Manalac, Geronimo eventually selected Ricarfort to move on to the live performances for her team.
