Sharon loses weight for "Megathirty" concert, reveals all-liquid diet

Popular singer-actress Sharon Cuneta revealed that she had to go on an all-liquid diet to be in good shape for her concert "Megathirty" held last Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The concert was staged to celebrate her 30th anniversary in showbusiness. 

It was apparent in the concert that the star has lost weight. Her figure was emphasized by the dark-colored dresses she wore that night.

Cuneta lost almost 14 pounds since she started dieting. She joked that she wanted to have the figure of her oldest daughter KC Concepcion.

In the concert that chronicled her three decades in showbiz, Cuneta extended her appreciation to those who were there, especially those who supported her through the years.

The singer, also known as the Megastar, also expressed her happiness at the remarkable success of the concert.

“Sobrang overwhelmed, so many loved ones came, so many friends from showbiz, so many friends na hindi taga-showbiz. Nabuo ang gabi ko. Napakaligaya, talagang sulit. Sobra na ang narating ko. Mahal na mahal ko kayo,” Cuneta said.

Thousands watched the concert, including her friends in and out of showbiz, supporters, fans, and members of her family.

ABS-CBN top executives Eugenio Lopez III and Charo Santos-Concio, as well as her ‘Kapamilya’ co-stars Gary Valenciano, Vina Morales, Judy Ann Santos and Martin Nievera were there to show their support.

Also present were Cuneta's leading men in movies-- ‘Bad Boy’ Robin Padilla, drama actors Richard Gomez and Aga Muhlach.

One of the highlights of the concert was her duet with daughter KC Concepcion. KC is Cuneta's first child by actor Gabby Concepcion. Cuneta and KC performed the hit song “Dear Heart.”

“Nakakataba ng puso to be singing there, and everytime na nagdu-duet kami ni mama 'yung relationship namin ni mama ay mas lalong gumaganda. Nagiging stronger kasi memories din yon for us,” said Concepcion.
 
“I'm very proud of her and congratulations for the thirty years,” said Senator Francis Pangilinan who was there with their daughters Miel and Frankie, and Cuneta’s mother Elaine Cuneta .

Also spotted in the big dome were actor John Estrada with girlfriend Priscilla Meirelles, actress-host Charlene Gonzalez, composer-singer Rey Valera, actress Beth Tamayo, veteran host German Moreno, comedian Bayani Agbayani, upcoming Korean star Sandara Park, singer Faith Cuneta and the singing Filipino-British young crooner from Britain, Charlie Green.

Couples Tirso Cruz and Lynn Ynchausti; Philip Salvador and Emma Ledesma; Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama also watched the concert.

Cuneta, who had a successful movie comeback with "Caregiver",  revealed that she will be doing a movie with former leading man Richard Gomez  before the year ends.
