MANILA, Philippines – Batangas Governor Vilma Santos is appealing to the public not to pit her against Superstar Nora Aunor, who just got back in the country last August 2 after being away for so many years.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday, Santos said she already left their showbiz rivalry in the past. Santos believes they are already mature enough not to be affected by such intrigues.

“Malaking bahagi ng industrya si Nora Aunor so I’m sure the industry is very happy for her. Pero para intrigahin kami? Excuse me naman! Thirty-seven years na ako sa industrya ha ha... para sumabay diyan, ay wag na,” she said.

Santos also shrugged off rumors saying Aunor was just the second choice to play the role of Emilio Aguinaldo’s second wife in the movie “El Presidente.”

According to Santos, she is hoping she and Aunor could do a project together in the future.

She also wished Aunor’s success in her comeback. “Sana maging successful ang projects niya rito because she deserves it,” she said.

Meanwhile, Santos revealed she is set to do a horror movie with young actress Kim Chiu under Star Cinema.

“Chito Roño horror-thriller magaling siya diyan...not definite kung pamangkin ko si Kim Chiu,” she disclosed.

She said her movie with Chiu is titled “The Healing.” – Report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
