His supposed showbiz "comeback" turned out to be just him filming an ad for a popular shawarma brand.
But fans of John Lloyd Cruz may have been given a bit of hope when Cathy Garcia-Molina, fresh off the success of her new movie, "Hello, Love, Goodbye," revealed that she is working on two more before she takes a break from filmmaking.
One of those could be with Cruz, she shared with "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on Wednesday: "Sana but hindi pa po napagusapan."
Garcia-Molina revealed a phone conversation she had with Cruz, in which they talked about reuniting for one more movie.
She said they were on the topic of her taking a break from making movies when Cruz told him: "Sabi niya, 'Pagbalik ko na lang, magkita tayo. Gawa tayo ng pelikula pagbalik ko.' "
Garcia-Molina is the director of "One More Chance" and its sequel, "A Second Chance," perhaps Cruz's most popular and beloved movies to date. His co-star was Bea Alonzo.
Garcia-Molina was on the late-night talk show on the back of the success of "Hello, Love, Goodbye," which, as of Tuesday, August 6, has made nearly P319 million in the box office.
