MANILA – A Cebuano football heartthrob won over his coach Sarah Geronimo and made it to the sing-offs round on the second season of ''The Voice Kids.''

Kyle Echarri, 11, was grouped with Jolianne Salvado and Alexia Dator. They performed Cyndi Lauper's ''True Colors.''

Geronimo noted that Echarri seemed nervous during the performance,

''But I know na ang laki ng improvement mo," Geronimo said.

The pop princess said Salvado seemed to have related well to the song as she was a victim of bullying. Salvado was picked by coaches Bamboo Mañalac and Lea Salonga.

Geronimo, meanwhile, praised Dator for giving her best despite struggling during rehearsals.

In the end, Geronimo went for Echarri, saying the latter has a unique voice quality.

''Napakahirap maghanap ng mga artists na tulad mo na may unique quality sa kanyang boses.''

Echarri joins Gian Ale, Zephanie Dimaranan, Kristel Belo, Amira Medina and Francis Lim as members of Geronimo’s team in the sing-offs which will begin on Sunday, August 9.

"The Voice Kids," which is hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo and Yeng Constantino, airs Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
