With a seemingly endless stream of movies starring beloved childhood superheroes and reboots, it's apparent that Hollywood has fallen in love with its pop-culture past. The same can be said in the Philippines, but instead of capes and dinosaurs, local producers are revisiting the old through love teams.
And keeping this upsurge of nostalgic "kilig" going is the new movie starring former couple Angelica Panganiban and Carlo Aquino, whose popular pairing stems back from their "G-mik" days nearly 20 years ago.
A teaser for "Exes Baggage" was first released on Saturday and it shows Panganiban and Aquino's characters meeting for the first time at a bar. They go through each other's Facebook history, unearthing funny photos of them as kids and teens, thus keeping with the theme of nostalgia.
It's the first movie to be produced by Black Sheep, one of the newly introduced film outfits under ABS-CBN Films, making it a sister group to Star Cinema. It is directed by Dan Villegas ("Changing Partners," "The Breakup Playlist").
A release date was not announced with the teaser.
