MANILA – Three young members of Team Lea charmed the coaches and the audience as the battle rounds of "The Voice Kids Season 2" continued on Sunday.
Esang de Torres, Bianca Marbella, and Stephanie Jordan melted hearts when they sang “Somewhere Out There” by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram.
Sarah Geronimo told the girls that they did a good job but singled out de Torres because “mula noong blind auditions dinurog na niya ang puso ko.”
Bamboo Manalac, meanwhile, said it was Marbella who made his heart melt. “She was just so raw, naririnig ko 'yung parang pagkabata niya,” he said.
Broadway star Lea Salonga eventually picked de Torrs to advance to the sing-offs.
“Esang, pinakaunang rehearsal ang lakas-lakas ng boses mo. Hiningi ko 'wag mo munag lakasan. Sinunod mo ako,” she said.
Still she praised Marbella for her voice quality and Jordan’s ability to sing a mellow ballad with her powerful voice.
De Torres joins Akisha Sianson, Jhyleanne Rington, Jonalyn Pepito and Luke Alford in Salonga’s team.
"The Voice Kids," which is hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo and Yeng Constantino, airs Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
