MANILA -- A young artist from Pampanga is the latest member of Bamboo Mañalac's team to advance to the next round of the competition of the second season of "The Voice Kids."

Twelve-year-old Sassa Dagdag performed the '80s pop hit "Hold On" with teammates Nikki Apolinar and Alexis Prieto.

Sarah Geronimo praised the trio for their excellent blending.

"Ang ganda ng blending niyong tatlo. Pipiliin ko itong artist na 'to dahil at ease lang siya, effortless, natural lang sa kanya 'yung ginagawa niya," she said, before naming Dagdag as her choice.

Lea Salonga also chose Dagdag, noting her confidence.

Mañalac, while pleased with the group's performance, noted that the girls were better at rehearsals.

"We've done this better. Noong binigyan ko kayo ng specific lines, may gagawin kayo sa kanta na 'yun, and to be honest, hindi niyo nabigay sa akin 'yun. I wanted more, I'm a hard guy to please. But then I was happy, on some level. Pinag-usapan natin, hindi maiiwan 'yung isa. This only works when that happens," he said, before choosing Dagdag as well.

She will be moving to the next round, along with Altair Aguelo, Elha Nympha, Benedict Inciong and Martina Ortiz-Luis, as part of Kamp Kawayan.

"The Voice Kids," which is hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo and Yeng Constantino, airs Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
