MANILA – A young baton twirler from Cebu staved off elimination as the battle rounds continued on "The Voice Kids Season 2" on Sunday.

Akisha Sianson bested Jiah Austria and Kiyana Bongat as they sang “Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso,” popularized by Donna Cruz.

Broadway star Lea Salonga, who coached the three, said of Sianson: “Yung pagiging baton twirler mo, 'yung ganoong klaseng energy, naging advantage mo, and you did not sacrifice your singing.”

Salonga nonetheless praised Austria for having fun with the song, and noted that Fil-Jap performer Bongat “grew the most among the three.”

Coach Bamboo Manalac also singled out Sianson “on the basis of clarity.”

Sarah Geronimo, meanwhile, went for Austria because “nag-enjoy siya talaga habang nag-pe-perform eh. Tapos nandododon pa rin 'yung linis ng boses niya.”

Sianson joins Jhyleanne Rington, Jonalyn Pepito and Luke Alford in “FamiLEA” as they move on the next round.

"The Voice Kids," which is hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo and Yeng Constantino, airs Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
