Domingo and Alcasid portray husband and wife in the upcoming musical film "I Do Bidoo Bidoo."

Off camera, Alcasid is happily married to Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez, to whom Domingo said she had to apologize for her scenes with her on-screen hubby.

"Nasabunutan ako eh," Domingo said in jest, pertaining to Velasquez.

"Hanggang ngayon humihingi ako ng paumanhin. Talagang ang lakas ng appeal ng asawa mo eh, hindi ako nakatanggi! Binigay ko lahat sa pelikulang ito," Domingo said during the filming of "I Do" on Tuesday.

In their "love scene" for the film, Domingo and Alcasid will be singing "'Di Na Natuto," originally sung by the group Apo Hiking Society.

Apo tribute

That love song won't be the only Apo tune that will be heard in "I Do."

The Chris Martinez-directed big-screen musical will feature the hits of the legendary trio as it tells the story of two families brought together by the love affair of their children.

Joining Domingo and Alcasid in the cast are Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gary Valenciano, Sam Concepcion and Tippy dos Santos.

"The challenge is ang mga artista hindi lamang umaarte, hindi lamang nagda-drama. Lahat kami required kumanta, sumayaw, pag-aralan ang mga kanta ng Apo Hiking Society," Domingo said.

"Dito talaga makikita ninyo na buong-buo ang kailangang ipakita ng artista. It's not easy, but when you see it, it's so fulfilling, at bawat sentimentong ibabayad niyo, worth it," she said of the film.

The comedienne is also all praises for Apo, whose lyrics will reflect the plot of "I Do."

"Ito naman ay kakaiba, dahil for the first time talagang magkakaroon tayo ng totoong musical, featuring the songs of the iconic group, Apo Hiking Society.

"Talagang classic ang kanilang mga awitin, at aabot sa bawat henerasyon. Sa bawat henereasyon, nandiyan ang mga awitin ng Apo," Domingo said.

Theater comeback

Aside from the movie, Domingo will also make her theater comeback via the Philippine Educational Theater Association's (PETA) stage version of Lino Brocka's critically acclaimed film "Bona."

"My birthday was very quiet. I chose to go to the farm para magkaroon ng detox and to memorize my line for 'Bona,'" said Domingo, who turned 41 on July 23.

"Kakaibang commitment siya kaya kailangan ko talaga mag-focus, kailangan ko pumunta sa tahimik na lugar. We're all very excited for this theatrical event," she added.

"I Do Bidoo Bidoo" will premiere on August 29 in cinemas nationwide, while "Bona" is set for a run at the PETA Center in the same month.
