Palawan-born Thuy joins 'PBB: Lucky 7'

MANILA - A 23-year-old Vietnamese woman is now part of the newest season of "Pinoy Big Brother." This, after the celebrity housemates completed all seven of the challenges given to them throughout their two-week stay in Vietnam.

Thuy, who was born in Palawan after her parents fled the then war-torn Southeast Asian nation back in the 1970s, could not hold back her emotions after it was confirmed that she will be one of the "regular" housemates.

"Marunong ako mag-Tagalog," Thuy, in tears, told the celebrity housemates, revealing that she grew up in the Philippines.

Since joining as a "guest," Thuy had to pretend to be the winner of the Vietnamese edition of the reality television show.

She also had to fool the celebrity housemates into thinking that she could not understand Tagalog.

Thuy said that she wanted to be part of "PBB" because she wants to share her story of growing up with refugee parents in the country.

"Pinoy Big Brother" has yet to reveal the other details surrounding the "regular" edition of the reality show. The show did tease that the celebrity housemates, with Thuy, will be returning to the iconic yellow house near the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City on Saturday.
