MANILA – “Hindi pa.”
This was Jessy Mendiola’s quick answer when asked directly whether she and Luis Manzano are already in a relationship.
At the sidelines of the FHM event on Tuesday, Mendiola told ABS-CBN News’s Gretchen Fullido that she will publicly admit their relationship only when they become a real-life couple.
Mendiola also shared what happened when she first met Manzano’s mom, actress-politician Vilma Santos-Recto, who invited her for dinner.
“Sobrang kinabahan ako pero sobrang bait kasi niya so nakakatuwa. Pagpasok ko pa lang sa bahay nila, sobrang welcome na. I can attest na talagang mabait si Congresswoman Vi,” she said.
Mendiola said she appreciates that Santos even gave her guidance. “She advised us to just be happy as long as wala kaming ginagawang masama, we just go on with our lives,” she said.
With all the positive things happening in her life now, Mendiola shared that she has decided to stay away from negative issues, including the one tagging her as the third party in Manzano’s former relationship with actress Angel Locsin.
Referring to her previous interview with ABS-CBN News where she tearfully defended herself against accusations, Mendiola said: “Siguro at that time, I was very hurt. You know how people are when they are hurt, sad, angry or whatever. They get to say things that are not really well thought of. Siguro 'yun lang kasi ang nararamdaman ko at that time. I meant that. Let’s just leave it there.”

Mendilola said she is content and happy with her life now and she is hoping this will continue in the years to come.
“Parang feeling ko I was just floating for the past years. Now that a little limelight has been shone upon me, I feel really happy. I feel really blessed and lucky despite all the intrigues and issues thrown at me,” she said.
“Siguro magkakaroon talaga ng bashers and haters but I’m not the only one who’s being bashed. I’m not the only one who’s being hated but hell, I’m the sexiest woman right now. I’m just really happy. I’ll just leave it at that,” she added.
