MANILA -- A young artist from Santo Tomas, Batangas is moving on to the next round of "The Voice Kids" after singing her way through the Battle Rounds on Sunday.

Eight-year-old Kristel Belo bested two other members from Team Sarah -- Mandy Sevillana and Kenshley Abad -- as they sang Basil Valdez' "Iduyan Mo," which earned praises from all the coaches.

"Ang galing niyo lang, mga bulilit kayo, grabe! That was just great singing," Broadway star Lea Salonga said, choosing Belo as the best performer.

Bamboo Mañalac echoed Salonga's praise for the trio, adding that the members complemented each other. He chose Sevillana as the one who stood out from the group.

Sarah Geronimo, who became teary-eyed as she was explaining her choice, also went for Belo.

"Patawarin niyo ako mga kids kung kailangan kong pumili, pero huwag kayong titigil sa pagkanta, okay?" she said.

Belo, together with Francis Lim, will so far represent Team Sarah in the next round of the competition.

"The Voice Kids," which is hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo and Yeng Constantino, airs Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
