MANILA – Filipino-British Luke Alford moves on to the next round of the second season of "The Voice Kids" after staving off elimination during the battle rounds.

Alford was grouped with 12-year-old Jhoas Sumatra and Noah Anderson. They sang “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5.

“Gentlemen, great stuff ah,” coach Bamboo Manalac said after the performance, adding that the performance of the boys was very dynamic.

He said, however, that he would choose Sumatra given the chance as he was “someone who had the pulse of the song.”

Sarah Geronimo for her part said, “Kung pipili ako sa inyong tatlo, ang pinaka-prepared tonight ay si Luke.”

So far, Alford and Jonalyn Pepito are the members of Lea Salonga’s team who have advanced to the sing-offs.

"The Voice Kids," which is hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo and Yeng Constantino, airs Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
