MANILA — After two and a half months in the United States for a series of operations, Liza Soberano got a warm welcome home from her family and onscreen and real-life partner Enrique Gil.
“Welcome home, Hopie,” read cutout letters held up by family and friends, including Gil, who surprised Soberano on Monday inside her home.
A beaming Soberano is seen in photos shared on Instagram by Juan Carlo, a catering service, as well as popular events stylist Gideon Hermosa.
Soberano, 21, had originally expected to be in the US for only two weeks, but had to extend for two more months to undergo further treatments for her fractured finger.
The injury, which was the result of an accident on the set of her fantaserye “Bagani” in August 2018, led to her decision to depart the high-profile “Darna” project where she was supposed to portray the titular superhero.
