MANILA, Philippines - Ely Buendia's manager on Friday dispelled the rumor that the renowned Filipino musician is dead.
However, the former frontman of The Eraserheads was reportedly brought to a hospital due to his heart ailment, but was expected to return home and not be confined.
In a statement, Diane Ventura, Buendia's wife and manager, said the singer is alive and well, contrary to text rumors circulating.
"He is safe, alive and very well," Ventura said.
"We just had a major meeting about his nationwide tour and solo concert happening in the upcoming months," she said.
"Please stop these extremely false and insensitive rumors. The guy has a family and has people who love him and are deeply concerned about his well-being. This is just very off-putting, malicious, and highly inconsiderate," she said.
