MANILA – Movie and TV director Jay Altajeros is cooking up a new boys’ love (BL) series.
In a statement released Tuesday, Altajeros said his team is still in the process of creating the story while also figuring out who to tap to star in it.
“That’s right, we’re creating BL series very soon. Habang binubuo ko ‘yung story, nag-iisip na rin kami kung sino ang kukuhaing artista,” he said.
Although refusing to divulge any details, Altajeros teased about its plot. “Para bigyan kayo ng patikim, it’s a story of an older man and a young. They meet again after 5 years,” he said.
The still-untitled project comes with a wave of BL productions in the Philippines, alongside the likes of "Hello Stranger” and "Game Boys," following the massive success of the Thai series "2gether" among Filipinos.
Altarejos is known for the movies “Ang Lihim Ni Antonio,” “Kasal,” “Pink Halo-Halo” and “Tale of the Lost Boys.” He recently launched the 2076 Online Channel that shows his latest series “Balangaw” and other shows shot during lockdown.
