MANILA – Michael V has tested positive for COVID-19.
The comedian made the announcement through a YouTube vlog which he uploaded on his channel Sunday night.
According to Michael V, he started having flu-like symptoms on July 11 and decided to isolate himself.
“Nag-quarantine na kaagad ako. I took medicine. Nagpa-check up ako sa doctor online. I got better the following day. Hindi naman tumaas ng todo 'yung temperature ko. The highest was 37.1 as of kanina. Pero merong flu-like symptoms talaga,” he said on July 14, as he documented his COVID-19 journey.
Michael V said he had a swab test at St. Luke’s Medical Center last July 15 and he got the dreadful news on July 18.
“Day 8 mula nung nagkaroon ako ng symptoms. I just received an email from St. Luke’s. Nakalagay sa result SARS-CoV-2 causative agent of COVID-19 viral RNA detected. So it's positive. Right now, fever na lang. 'Yung loss of smell nare-regain ko na siya,” he said.
Turning emotional, Michael V said he is hoping to get through this illness as he’s been through worse.
“Alam kong hindi normal 'yung nawala 'yung pang-amoy ko and I was counting na may kinalaman talaga 'yun sa COVID but I was also praying na wala but it turns out [positive nga],” he said.
“Itutuloy lang natin ang mga sinabi sa atin na kailangan gawin and we'll get through this. We've been through worse. Sobrang nami-miss ko lang 'yung pamilya ko,” he added.
