MANILA—The stakes have never been higher as this week, as it turns out, is the final hurdle that the 6 remaining hopefuls need to jump to get into the grand finals of "Idol Philippines."
Only one will be eliminated before the "Final Showdown" next week --and to help determine that, they were asked to perform their chosen song from Gary Valenciano's discography.
Lance Busa was up first and he picked "Paano," saying that he wanted to show how much fun he is having in this contest.
"Bagay na bagay sa iyo iyong kanta and that you performed it really well," praised Regine Velasquez, adding that she particularly liked how he phrased the song. "You really made it your own. I loved it."
Vice Ganda added: "Hindi matatawaran ang galing mo sa pagkanta. You looked so pro, you sounded so pro --kasing galing mo na iyong mga professional singers natin sa 'ASAP.' Ganoon na ang level mo."
Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Idol Philippines" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
