Awra Briguela has shot down rumors claiming that he has been cast as Ding in the upcoming "Darna" movie.
"Hindi po totoo na inoffer-an akong mag-Ding," the child actor told reporters on Thursday, before explaining the reason why it is near impossible for him to bag the role.
"Hindi ko ine-expect, hindi po ako nag-ooverthink na maging Ding ako kasi unang una, hindi bakla si Ding," said Briguela. "Ibang-iba iyong personality niya sa personality ni Awra."
Rumors of him being cast as Ding began when Liza Soberano was confirmed as the movie's lead.
The lack of announcements regarding the other characters in the movie led to numerous fan speculations over who could possibly fill out the movie's cast.
So far, Star Cinema has remained tight-lipped about the movie. Even a release date has yet to be revealed as Soberano is still undergoing training for the role.
Briguela was speaking in a press conference for "Wansapanataym Presents: Amazing Ving," in which he plays a kid who transforms into a superhero using a magical rock --similar to how Narda gets her superpowers.
