Viral 'tsinelas' toy maker Elmer Padilla is one of the people highlighted in the new episode of 'Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan,' along with toy designer Jerry Santos.

MANILA -- It was an episode that zoomed in on those moments, when all hope seemed lost and one is left desperately turning to prayer.

Saturday's "Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan" highlighted those who felt like they were among the lucky ones, whose faith was rewarded with a miracle during their absolute low points.

It began with the story of April Cashiua, an aspiring actress who was early on in her life left to fend for herself after being abandoned by her parents. She was later on taken in again by her father, but she then experienced physical abuse from her stepmom.

Her "miracle" came in the form of Elmer Padilla, who a few years back became the subject of headlines for his ability to craft impressive toy figures of popular pop culture characters from discarded slippers.

Padilla was the one who paved the way for Cashiua to find work as a stuntwoman. This helped Cashiua pay for her father's hospitalization, a man she still tries to help despite all her hardships with him.

The episode then focused on Padilla and how he found a way to make money off his figures, through a toy designer who reached out to him out of the blue, touched by his story behind his figures.

According to Padilla, he refused to burden his parents by making them buy him toys, fully knowing how poor they were, so he decided to just make them himself with whatever material he could find.

This caught the attention of Jerry Santos, whom Padilla is forever grateful for for introducing him to other collectors, arranging convention appearances, allowing him to make a bit of cash selling figures.

Santos, for his part, was grateful toward a comics collector named Vladmir Opiana, who did all the work needed for a fundraiser and started to help pay for his wife's life-saving operation.

The episode wrapped with Opiana crediting his renewed faith for helping him turn for the better, which ties in to the overall message of the episode as summed up by host Judy Ann Santos: "Sila ang patunay na kahit ano mang bigat ang pinagdadaanan natin sa buhay ay may himalang dadating para tulungan tayo. ...at dumadating ito sa tamang panahon at sa tamang oras.'

"Kaya huwag po tayo matakot ...kapit lang."
