MANILA — Maja Salvador is out for blood as “The Killer Bride” in the upcoming series’ teaser released on Friday.
“Sinusumpa ko, babalikan ko kayo lahat at ipapakita ko sa inyo kung anong klaseng demonyo ang tinapon niya sa impyerno,” her character, Camila, is heard saying in anguish over the image of a burning wedding gown.
A enraged Camila is then shown shouting, her face partly consumed by flames.
The visual may be a hint of Camila’s supposed demise in the series early on — a plot point the cast revealed in a June media conference announcing the “gothic romance.”
According to Salvador, Camila’s forbidden love with Vito (Geoff Eigenmann), the scion of a rival family, results in her apparent death on the day of their wedding.
One of the central mysteries of “The Killer Bride,” she said, is the supposed possession of a girl, Emma (Janella Salvador), by Camila’s ghost.
The death of Camila, according to Janella Salvador, sets off a “curse” that grips the superstitious town of Las Espadas with fearful stories of a vengeful, killer bride.
Emma arrives in Las Espadas as a supposed vessel of Camilla, triggering fresh conflicts as well as her own love story with the skeptical Elias (Joshua Garcia).
Directed by Dado Lumibao, “The Killer Bride” has a target premiere date in August.
