ZAMBOANGA CITY - Wounded soldiers confined at the Camp Navarro General Hospital here were surprised after actor Robin Padilla paid them a visit, Thursday.

The action star's visit comes days after he joined President Rodrigo Duterte's trip to a military base in Indanan, Sulu which was attacked by suicide bombers last June 28.

"Para sa akin [na] practicing Muslim at I pray 5 times a day, Allah Hu Akbar din ang sinasabi ko, pero wala akong terorismo sa katawan," Padilla told wounded soldiers.

The actor also told the military men that he plans to enlist as an Army reservist.

Padilla has yet to reveal the date of his enlistment.

He is set to welcome his second child with "It's Showtime" host Mariel Padilla later this year.

After his hospital visit, Padilla is expected to meet with Islamic leaders in the city to discuss the importance of Islamic teachings in the age of misinformation.
