MANILA - A comedian from Novaliches City had the studio audience on ''It's Showtime'' in stitches, wiping off the competition and earning him a second chance to be named the first ever grand winner of ''The Funny One.''

During the noontime program's segment dedicated to budding comedians, Ryan Rems Sarita earned a near perfect score from judges Melai Cantiveros, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, and actor-comedian Joey Marquez.

"Tuwing Sabado, talagang tawang-tawa 'yung mga tao sa kanya. Sa paglagay pa lang ng kanyang shades natawa na agad ako eh," Cantiveros said.

Sarita got a score of a flat 9 out of a possible 10. In comparison, Iskobi Duo -- who were also saved from the elimination -- got the second highest with 6.7.

Other contestants Nonong Ballinan and Bob Jbeili, meanwhile, were eliminated.

Sarita and Iskobi Duo will be joining TJ Valderama, No Direction, Crazy Duo, Gibis Alejandrino as the six remaining finalists of the competition as it enters its third week.
