Irene and Seulgi of the K-pop group Red Velvet took the music scene by storm when they released their mini-album “Monster” on Monday.
In an article by Korean entertainment news site Soompi, the album reportedly claimed the top spot of iTunes’ album charts in 45 regions around the world, including the Philippines, immediately after its release.
Soompi said included in these countries are the Philippines, Canada, France, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Peru, Romania, Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Russia, New Zealand, Israel, Cambodia, Brunei, Macao, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Oman, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Laos, Colombia, Bahrain, India, Hong Kong, Turkey, Nicaragua, Taiwan, Indonesia, Egypt, and the Dominican Republic.
Meanwhile, its music video was released on Tuesday via the official YouTube channel of producer SM Entertainment.
As of writing, the music video of “Monster” already has more than 16 million views.
