MANILA -- It was a simple dream -- to be able to paint the house they had put up in Morong, Rizal, and to buy maybe a chair or two with a dining table so they could eat together.
But sadly for Tatay Jimmy, a jeepney driver, and his wife Nanay Emilia, that dream appeared out of reach due to the lockdown.
The couple was among those severely affected by the pandemic who were featured by Angel Locsin in last Sunday's episode of "Iba Yan," aired on the Kapamilya Channel and streamed online.
Tatay Jimmy and Nanay Emilia's portion of the episode particularly went viral on Facebook because of their heartwarming reaction as they saw their wishes granted, courtesy of Locsin's team.
The clip, which has more than 3.1 million views on the social media platform after just three days, began with Tatay Jimmy and Nanay Emilia celebrating being told that they would be able to go home.
Due to the travel restrictions placed in an attempt to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the metro, Tatay Jimmy had been spending his days stuck inside his jeepney, which they had been sleeping in.
They were brought to tears when they found that the "Iba Yan" crew had refurbished their home, bought them furniture to add to the one stove they had owned, and built them their own sari-sari store.
"Hindi ako makapaniwala sa mga nangyari sa buhay natin," said Nanay Emilia, after tearing up uncontrollably and sharing an emotional hug with her husband that had touched the hearts of viewers online. You can check it out below:
