MANILA — Multi-awarded young singer Darren Espanto is the most talked-about Filipino music artist on Twitter for the first six months of the year.
The 17-year old, dubbed as "The Total Performer," led the "Top OPM Musicians" list on Twitter's Entertainment Index for Midyear 2018.
Espanto regularly appears on the weekly musical variety show "ASAP." He also held a solo concert, "Unstoppable," at the Kia Theater last May.
He is set to make his film debut in the upcoming Star Cinema movie, "The Hows of Us," where he will play Kathryn Bernardo's younger brother.
At second place is Nadine Lustre, who is set to release an upcoming track titled "Summer," which was written by and will feature James Reid.
Last January, Lustre released the music video for her song "Stay Up."
Indie rock band IV of Spades came in third.
The band claimed the New Artist of the Year and Myx Bandarito Performance of the Year awards in the recent MYX Music Awards.
Lead vocalist Unique Salonga announced his departure from the band last May.
Moira Dela Torre emerged as the fourth most talked-about Filipino musician.
Last April, she released the music video for her song "Tagpuan," which included the actual proposal of her boyfriend Jason Marvin Hernandez.
At fifth place were JV Kapunan, popularly known as Young JV, and Miho Nisihda.
The two shared they were "exclusively dating" last March and released their collaboration titled "123."
