MANILA — Richard Gutierrez is the latest big-name addition to the cast of "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano," debuting in its episode on Tuesday.

Gutierrez portrays Lito, a wealthy businessman who is revealed to be Alyana's (Yassi Pressman) childhood friend and former sweetheart.

He comes into the picture as Alyana and her husband Cardo (Coco Martin) find a hiding place from Lily's (Lorna Tolentino) forces and other crime groups, after being targeted with a "kill order."

Alyana's childhood home in the province serves as a refuge for them, as well as Cardo's loyal allies in the police force.

Unknown to Alyana, Lito has long been helping her relatives, even answering for the renovation of the house where she grew up.

While in the Tuesday episode Lito and Alyana didn't yet meet, a teaser hinted that their reunion will become a wedge in the latter's marriage.

"Ang Probinsyano" airs weeknights on Kapamilya Channel.
