For Julia Montes, Father's Day celebrations have been on hold for years. Her tireless search for her biological dad yielded nothing, not even a name. That all changed when her fans and friends stumbled onto clues that led to her meeting her German father last December.
"Lahat bago," the actress told ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe on Saturday, as she tried to describe the happiness she felt over finally getting to toast the occasion.
Montes spent it with his dad, Martin Schnittka, in El Nido, Palawan. There, she also got to bond with her stepbrothers, David and Kevin, for the first time, ecstatic to find out that they have a lot in common.
"Until now, in shock and happy lang talaga ako," Montes admitted. "Overflowing lang talaga iyong blessing na nararamdaman ko."
She continued: "Iyong dating pinagpra-pray ko kay God, hindi siya dumating agad pero dumating siya sa unexpected time kaya sobrang memorable."
They snorkeled, explored caves, went island hopping, had dinners by the beach, and cried over gifts for one another.
She didn't post any of these activities on Instagram, as she's known for being private, but she did share a simple photo of her together with her dad making funny faces.
Montes said she did so because she wanted to inspire those who have lost all hope in finding a missing parent. "Mayroon talagang special way si God na gagawin para mabuo iyong missing puzzle piece sa buhay."
