MANILA - (UPDATED) Young actress Janella Salvador was "saddened and shocked" by the death of her "Oh My G!" co-star Julia Louise Buencamino, the daughter of actors Nonie and Shamaine Buencamino.
In the series, Julia Louise, 15, played the character of Aimee Chua, one of the close friends of Salvador's character Sophie.
On Twitter, Salvador said: "I am deeply saddened and shocked. No words. Rest in peace, bestie @hoolianabanana. May your soul be guided by G."
Julia's other co-stars, Marlo Mortel, Patrick Sigui and Tom Doromal, also shared their grief on Instagram. Sigui and Doromal's characters were part of Sophie's "barkada" with Aimee.
Doromal said: "Julia, Aimee, bestie... It was too early... The whole Family will be praying for you. You may Rest In Peace. #LifeGoesOn"
Re-posting a recent photo from Julia's Instagram account showing his pet dog, Mortel said: "C'mon Julia what happened ;( I still can't believe it. We shared a lot of moments together and always had the longest hugs ;( I just hope you're happy wherever you are now. #RipJulia"
Meanwhile, the production team behind "Oh My G!" extended its sympathies to the Buencaminos -- a statement shared by Sigui on Instagram. "We are praying for her and her family's strength in this trying time," the statement read.
"Julia has been a joy to work with, as a promising young actress and a sweet and kind girl who always freely gave out hugs on the set. We have lost a dear friend in Julia. In our hearts, she will always be our bestie," it added.
Julia Louise was found dead by their household help at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, according to PO3 Victorio Guerrero, the investigator assigned to the case.
In a statement released Wednesday morning, the Buencaminos appealed for privacy also on behalf of those close to them, who wish to remember Julia and celebrate her life in peace and quiet.
They also expressed their gratitude to everyone sending them love and support at this time.
"We thank you for your love, understanding, and prayers of support during this time of profound grief. Julia led a beautiful and blessed life, and she will be fondly remembered and terribly missed by her family and friends," the family's statement read.
