MANILA, Philippines – “American Idol” season 7 winner David Cook expressed interest at the possibility of doing a duet or even a concert with season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez.

In an exclusive interview with The Philippine Star’s Ricky Lo, which was published on Sunday, Cook said working with the half-Filipino Sanchez would definitely be a challenge for him.
“I’d love to, absolutely! She’d be a really tough act to follow but yes, absolutely I’d love to do a duet or a concert with her. That would be challenging,” he said.
Cook said he followed the latest season of “Idol” and he really found Sanchez amazing.
“It’s an overused line and I’m hesitant to use it but I really can’t think of anything else to say about Jessica. I really think that girl can sing anything and make it sound incredible,” he said.
Cook said watching the 16-year-old Filipino-Mexican in the competition was a lot of fun, especially since he’s been through the same experience.
Asked what kind of song he’d like to do with Sanchez, he said: “Oh wow! I would refer to her…whatever she wants to sing.”
Three years since his last visit, Cook will be in the country again to perform at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on July 14 and at Cebu Waterfront Hotel on July 15.
Sanchez, for her part, will be in Manila along with the season 11 top 10 finalists on September 21 as part of this year's “Idol” tour.
