Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero and actress Heart Evangelista -- HOLA! Philippines

MANILA – Actress Heart Evangelista denied that she interferes with the political plans of her husband, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

Ahead of next year's presidential elections, there are speculations that Escudero will be seeking a higher post in 2016.

Speaking to entertainment site PEP.ph, Evangelista said she tries to stay away from politics as much as possible.

“When it comes to politics, ayaw kong maki-epal. Kasi diskarte niya yun. Sa tingin ko din, hindi na rin uso ngayon na mayroon kang asawa na nagdidikta din sa iyo kung anong gagawin mo sa trabaho mo. So, I try to avoid that,” she said.

Evangelista said she will just continue to support Escudero whatever he plans to do come 2016.

“Basta susuportahan ko siya bilang asawa. Pagdating niya sa bahay, may mainit na pagkain, normal ang buhay namin. We live normal lives, and that’s the best way to support him,” she said.

Despite their hectic schedules, the actress said she is still able to spend time with Escudero and enjoy their married life.

“Ine-enjoy pa namin ang mga hindi namin nagawa dati ngayong nakasal na kami. Bilang hindi rin naman kami as free as a married couple before we were married, so there are many things now that we can really do and enjoy together na kasal na kami,” she said.

Having said this, Evangelista said she and Escudero are not planning to have a baby yet in the near future.

“Next year pa, end of next year pa. Ako, I like to plan things and I feel na may mga kailangan pa akong gawin ngayon,” she said. “Kasi, the moment na magkaroon kami ng baby, forever na iyon.”

Evangelista and Escudero were married on February 15, 2015 at the Balesin Island Club in Quezon.
