MANILA—Gerald Anderson has no problem with girlfriend Bea Alonzo reuniting with her love team partner John Lloyd Cruz for a project. In fact, he's among those excited about it.
"Matagal ko nang alam 'yun," he said, referring to the project confirmed this Friday to be a scene for a commercial.
He recalled with Push that the first-ever Filipino movie he ever watched, back when he was still a teen, was "Now That I Have You," which starred Alonzo and Cruz.
He shared that he even told Alonzo that she should do another movie with Cruz: "Sabi ko nga, 'Maraming nakaka-miss sa inyo.' Sobrang refreshing, di ba?"
Anderson was speaking with reporters at a press conference for a marathon event hosted by a shoe brand.
Of his relationship with Cruz, he said: "Si John Lloyd, sobrang na-miss natin sa mga movies niya. I think lahat naman kami [sa showbiz industry] really look up to him sa pagiging artista.
"It’s good to see him back. Sana tuloy-tuloy at bumalik na siya."
It was earlier this week when it was revealed that the much-talked about project between Alonzo and Cruz was for a commercial as endorsers of a shawarma food cart chain.
It marked Cruz's return to the limelight since leaving "Home Sweetie Home" back in 2017.
The reason for the hiatus later turned out to be to focus on his personal life with his girlfriend, Ellen Adarna. They welcomed their son, Elias Modesto, last year.
