MANILA - Unlike its past episodes, “ASAP Natin To” closed on Sunday with a heartfelt prayer dedicated for the thousands of employees of ABS-CBN.

This after the government ordered the shutdown of more of the network’s broadcast platforms last week.

Separate cease and desist orders from the National Telecommunications Commission directed ABS-CBN to stop operating its digital TV transmission in Metro Manila using channel 43 (TVPlus), as well as Sky Cable Corp.'s SKYdirect.

The network's TV and radio broadcast operations were earlier directed to halt on May 5, a day after its previous license to operate expired.

Led by Gary Valenciano, the “ASAP” mainstays prayed for a favorable decision in Congress as the public hearings for ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal are set to come to a close this week.

Throughout Valenciano’s prayer, it was visible that singers Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez, Sarah Geronimo and Erik Santos were all getting emotional.

All five then performed “Kapamilya Forever” as their last song.
