Poll: Fans like Jackson's 'Heal the World' best

MANILA - The 1991 hit single "Heal the World" is the most favorite Michael Jackson track, according to an online poll conducted by abs-cbnNEWS.com.

The online survey asked users to vote for their favorite Michael Jackson song among a list of the artist's most popular tracks. The poll was conducted shortly after abs-cbnNEWS.com confirmed that the "King of Pop" died of cardiac arrest last June 25, (Friday in Manila time).

"Heal the World", released under the album "Dangerous," garnered 1,484 votes out of almost 8,300 total responses. Jackson reportedly told fans that "Heal the World" is one of the songs he is most proud to have created.

Following by a close second, the 1972 track "Ben" got 1,481 votes overall. The song, which was nominated for "Best Original Song" at the 1973 Academy Awards, sealed the then 14-year-old Jackson's claim to fame as one of the youngest music artists to release a number one hit single.

Other top Jackson favorites include disco track "Billie Jean" (969 votes), his signature track "Thriller" (829 votes), pop ballad "You Are Not Alone" (776 votes), and the anthemic song "We Are The World" (656 votes).

Respondents also liked the somber tracks "Man In The Mirror" (453 votes) and "She's Out Of My Life" (418 votes), as well as the catchy tunes of "Beat It" (409 votes) and "Rock With You" (279 votes).

Meanwhile, Jackson's tribute song to an AIDS patient, "Gone Too Soon," got 120 votes;  the swing-R&B track "Remember The Time" got 81 votes; "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," under his debut solo album "Off The Wall," got 74 votes; while the pop-rock track "Bad" garnered 63 votes.

The ABS-CBN Survey titled "What is your favorite Michael Jackson song?" ran from June 25 to July 3. Users could vote multiple times, but not immediately after the first vote, and only if they use a separate and unique ISP address.
