MANILA -- Actress Andi Eigenmann now considers herself an island girl as she now lives in Baler, Aurora.
The 28-year-old actress said she is just temporarily staying in Manila to help promote her movie "Maid in London."
"Of course, I was really happy to be filming this movie with the whole cast and the production, and so I'm here. I'm back in Manila to help promote and support the movie also as well, but just visiting," she told the media during a press conference.
"For now, hindi na po ako taga-Manila," Eigenmann said, adding she has now moved to Baler.
An Inquirer.net report said Eigenmann even sold everything she has to build her life in Baler.
"I sold everything that I felt was an idea of luxury that I didn’t need. I don’t own cars, any designer clothes, bags, lahat ng mga pang-artistang ‘yan, make-up lahat ‘yan wala na. Kahit mga kasama sa bahay, yaya, driver, wala na lahat, talagang simple life,” she was quoted as saying.
According to Eigenmann, she moved to Baler because she feels it is where she belongs, and it is where she wants her daughter, Ellie, to grow up.
"Life there is just so different, it doesn’t mean that everybody should move to Baler with me but na-realize ko lang na itong lugar na ‘to dito ko nababagay... I want my daughter to witness and grow up in a place like this and also the people. I’ve grown so close to the people who live there they’re like my family especially the little kids na mahal na mahal so why not just build my life there," she explained.
Despite seemingly living away from the limelight, Eigenmann said she is still willing to accept projects.
"If ever po may offers para gumawa ng certain na pelikula, game naman po ako para doon," she also said.
Eigenmman will be playing the role of an overseas Filipino worker in her new movie.
