Julia Barretto and Claudine Barretto
MANILA – Julia Barretto is ecstatic that her aunt Claudine is now back in the Kapamilya network.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News’ Mario Dumaual during Preview magazine's annual ball held at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati, the 18-year-old Barretto said she remains a big fan of her aunt and is excited to know that Claudine is already gearing up for her comeback project.
“Nakita ko ang mga pictures kahapon, I’m so happy for her. Siyempre naman, I’ll always be happy for her. I’m excited for her. I’m still a huge fan so aabangan ko talaga ‘yun,” Julia said.
Last Friday, Claudine had a look test and a story conference with her co-stars in the upcoming Star Cinema movie "Etiquette for Mistresses."
The movie based on the Julie Yap Daza book also features Kris Aquino, Kim Chiu, Iza Calzado and Cheena.
"Ako, sobrang happy," Claudine told reporters. "Ang tagal kong nawala... Siyempre 'yung nerbiyos, sobra-sobra sa akin talaga. Nanginginig pa ako kanina."
For the former Star Magic artist, "Etiquette for Mistresses" is a chance to get her career on track again after being sidelined by controversies.
Meanwhile, Julia shared that just like her aunt, she is also busy preparing for her new series “And I Love You So.”
“I’m good. I’ve been very busy especially with the new teleserye with Inigo (Pascual),” she said.
A drama about "family, friendship, love and betrayal," the Dreamscape production will mark the third major team-up of Claudine and Pascual, after the romance-drama film "Para sa Hopeless Romantic" and a "Wansapanataym" miniseries.
To be directed by Don Cuaresma, "And I Love You So" will also star Miles Ocampo, Dante Rivero, Angel Aquino, Dimples Romana, Benjie Paras, Bing Loyzaga, Raymond Bagatsing, Luke Jickain, and Jay Manalo.
Its premiere date has yet to be announced.
