MANILA - Teen star Julia Barretto triggered speculation on Thursday after she posted a photo of her with her mother, former actress Marjorie Barretto, captioned with a cryptic message.
The black-and-white photo shows Marjorie hugging Julia apparently while in bed. "Only we know Momma," Julia said in the caption. "Stay with me."
The post had Julia's followers speculating whether it had something to do with a recent statement of her father, comedian Dennis Padilla, about a petition to change to drop his surname.
Marjorie and Padilla, who have three kids together, are separated.

Julia's real name is Julia Frances Baldivia (Padilla's real surname). She made headlines in March, days before her televised debut, when she announced that she has since change her mind about having Barretto as her legal surname instead.
However, Padilla belied this last Tuesday, saying Julia has yet to withdraw the petition, which was reportedly filed when the actress was only 16.
