MANILA, Philippines -- Two film projects are reportedy lined up for Claudine Barretto, who, despite being on hiatus from showbiz, continues to be in the limelight due to private conflicts made public.
The 33-year-old actress is being offered to star in two movies, ABS-CBN News has learned, with one possibly marking her reunion with the Kapamilya network.
Barretto's first comeback project will be produced by the film production outfit of Viva Entertainment, where she is under contract. Titled "Eternally," the film is reportedly a romance-drama.
The other project, which is also a dramatic film, is a proposed co-production with ABS-CBN's film production outfit Star Cinema.
A former artist of ABS-CBN's talent management firm Star Magic, Barretto was a contract artist of the Kapamilya network for 17 years, before she signed an exclusive contract with GMA-7 in 2009.
Barretto's last regular role in a TV series was "Iglot" in 2011. Her last film, a co-production of Viva Films and GMA Films, "In Your Eyes," was released in 2010.
Although she has been largely inactive as an actress in recent years, Barretto continues to be the subject of headlines, most recently due to a feud among her family members and her separation from husband Raymart Santiago. -- with a report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
