MANILA - Actress Jennylyn Mercado prefers not to talk about her former boyfriend, TV host Luis Manzano, who has been vocal of his plans to settle down with his current partner, "The Legal Wife" star Angel Locsin.

Mercado was asked about the topic Tuesday on the sidelines of a press conference held by beauty clinic Belo, which she endorses.

"Wala muna. Wala. Ayoko muna pag-usapan. Wala na ako doon," the 27-year-old actress said, laughing, when asked about her wish for Manzano amid talks that the actor is planning to marry Locsin.

"I wish them well... I wish them well," she added.

Mercado confirmed her separation from Manzano in late 2013, after two years of being a couple. Neither shared the reason behind the breakup, although both were quick to deny that a third party was involved.

A year into their relationship in November 2012, Manzano referred to Mercado as "the one" and even expressed excitement to settle down with the actress.

Manzano and Locsin, meanwhile, got back together in February this year, a month after the "Darna" star controversially admitted in a press conference that she is still in love with the TV host four years after they broke up.

Before reconciling with Manzano, whom she admitted to avoiding for two years, Locsin was in a relationship with football player Phil Younghusband. The 29-year-old actress actress confirmed her breakup with Younghusband in October last year, the same month Mercado and Manzano admitted their separation.

The 33-year-old Manzano has said he and Locsin are likely to get married in 2015, and has even tapped TV host Kris Aquino, among others, as a principal sponsor in the wedding.

'Blocking' suitors

Admittedly, Mercado has been "blocking" suitors as she is not yet ready to enter a new relationship. She explained that she would rather spend time with Alex Jazz, her son with actor Patrick Garcia, and focus on her career.

"Siguro na-feel ko lang na ang sarap pala maging single. Nakaka-focus ka sa sarili mo, sa pamilya mo, sa career mo, and parang doon na umiikot 'yung mundo ko ngayon sa tatlo," she said.

Mercado added: "Hindi pa ako ready. Ang hirap naman, 'di ba, na mag-entertain tapos hindi ka pa ready. Unfair naman din sa mga tao. Might as well na single ka na muna."

Meanwhile, the actress said she has become good friends again with Garcia, who welcomed a baby girl with his non-showbiz girl, Nikka Martinez, in March last year.

If she will be invited, Mercado said she would even be willing to attend Garcia and Martinez's upcoming wedding, adding she would have no qualms if Alex Jazz will be tapped for a role in the ceremony.
