Prior to taking the stage for the solo rounds of "Idol Philippines" on Saturday's episode, Zephanie Dimaranan, the teen who has yet to give up on her dream of becoming a singer despite previous failures, was asked to prove that she's a "diamond."
And she certainly didn't disappoint with her cover of Fantasia Barino's' "I Believe" on Saturday, emotionally saying afterwards that even if she would not have made it to the next round, she sang from her heart.
The judges had little to no arguments against it, eventually picking her, along with 5 other female contestants, to move on the live rounds. The others were Elle Ocampo, Sheland Faelnar, Trish Bonilla, Fatima Louise, and Rachel Libres.
The 6 male contestants that will join them will be determined on Sunday's episode.
Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Idol Philippines" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
