MANILA - "The Voice Kids," ABS-CBN's ongoing singing competition for children, scored massive ratings in in the past two weeks, cementing its place as a weekend leader in nationwide viewership.
Its blind auditions episode last June 20 registered a national TV rating of 39.9%, according to Kantar Media, making it the No. 1 program in its time slot.
"The Voice Kids" soared even higher on June 21, with 40.4%.
Its latest juggernaut viewership was a repeat of the record-setting 40.7% it achieved last June 13, which was followed by an episode with a 39.9% rating the next night.
Reaching the 40-percent mark in nationwide ratings has become a rare feat for locally produced programs.
"The Voice Kids," which is only on the third week of its second season, looks to be trailblazing a ratings standard for shows of the same genre.
Returning as coaches are Sarah Geronimo, Lea Salonga, and Bamboo, who are each recruiting artists in the ongoing blind auditions for their bet as the new "Voice."
