MANILA, Philippines - Actress Amy Austria-Ventura, who is Esmeralda Tuazon in real life, finally explained why she decided to tweak her screen name.
In a press conference for ABS-CBN's upcoming soap "Lorenzo's Time" which will air on July 2, the actress explained that Ventura is her husband's surname.
She said she decided to add this to her screen name to let people know that she can no longer entertain suitors.
"It was my idea [to use Ventura]. Totoo," Austria-Ventura said.
So 'yun na ang gagamitin ko," she said.
Austria-Ventura admitted that there are men who are still trying to woo her.
Ay, 10 years na po akong married," she said.
Austria-Ventura said that she has been married to her husband for 13 years. It was January of 1999 when she and her non-showbiz man got married.
Aside from taking care of her husband, the actress is also happy spending time with her grandchild Sabine, daughter of her child Alexandra.
