MANILA -- Singer-actress Sharon Cuneta took to social media to mourn the death of showbiz legend Eddie Garcia, who passed away on Thursday.
Cuneta, dubbed as the country's "Megastar," expressed sadness that the actor who played the role of her father in her first movie has died.
In the 1981 film "Dear Heart," Garcia portrayed Don Manalo, a strict father to his daughter April (Cuneta).
"I will miss you, my Papa... I will love you forever. Your baby girl, April," Cuneta wrote in the caption.
After "Dear Heart," Cuneta and Garcia worked together in films like "Pati ba Pintig ng Puso?" and "P.S. I Love You."
In another Instagram post, Cuneta paid tribute to the late veteran actor.
"Thank you for all that you gave me, us...It is truly the end of an era.
She went on: "Maraming salamat po, Mr. Eddie Garcia. May you rest in God's arms and we, those who have had the privilege of working with you, shall remember all that you stand for, and do our best to keep your legacy alive, because you have made us all a part of it... My heart is broken."
