MANILA - Actress Liza Soberano on Saturday reunited with her American mother, Jacqulyn Elizabeth Hanley, whom she had not seen for more than seven years.
The 17-year-old Soberano, along with on-screen partner Enrique Gil, arrived at the San Francisco International Airport for the North America premiere of their film, "Just the Way You Are."
There, she shared an emotional moment with her mother, who later in an interview with ABS-CBN North America said: "I'm overwhelmed right now. I'm so happy."
It was a bittersweet reunion, however, for Soberano, who will be spending Father's Day away from his Filipino dad, John Castillo Soberano.
Speaking with ABS-CBN News on Friday, she said: "Daddy's always there for me. He's always very supportive to all my premiere nights. He's very important to me."
Soberano was born in California. She was raised by her maternal grandparents when her parents separated, before moving to Manila at the age of 10 to live with her father.
