Behind the scenes: Anne Curtis' new movie 'The Gifted'

MANILA - "Out of this world!"

This was how Anne Curtis described the dark humor of "The Gifted," her upcoming movie co-starring Sam Milby and Cristine Reyes.
 

ABS-CBN News' Mario Dumaual visited the film's set on Tuesday and spoke with Curtis about what to expect from the Chris Martinez-directed project, which is now down to its last five days of shooting.

While Curtis couldn't divulge details of the plot, she expressed confidence that moviegoers will find the twists and characters "super hilarious," owing to Martinez's script which she described as "intelligent."

The 29-year-old actress also referred to her character, Zoe Tuazon, as a "breath of fresh air," saying her fans will find the feisty woman different from her recent roles, including the innocent and soft-spoken Dyesebel.

A release date for "The Gifted" has yet to be announced.

Question: How is the film coming along?

Anne Curtis: We're shooting thrice a week and we're on our last five shooting days, then we're good to go!

Q: What can you tell us about the plot?

AC: Ang daming nagtataka kasi we haven't been sharing it yet. Nakikita palang nila 'yung mga glimpse of my characters sa Instagram ko. So nung nakita nila, may private plane si Zoe, lavish lifestyle!

Nakakatawa ['yung mga eksena ko kasama si Cristine]. Nakakatawa 'yung mga pasabog ng bawat character. Meron pang isang element dito na hindi ko puwede i-share sa mga tao. Malalaman niyo siguro when the trailer comes out. Ang nakikita niyo ngayon, glamorous sila, but there's another element to it.

Q: Is there anything you can share about Zoe?

AC: Basta, abangan niyo ang mga pasabog ni Zoe Tuazon dito! She's such a feisty character that I think you will find her super hilarious. Super nakakatawa siya!

Q: How has it been working with Sam and Cristine?

AC: Si Sam, siya 'yung main leading man namin dito. Ginagamit ko siya as an instrument, so abangan niyo kung paano ko siya gagamitin! Of course, balik-tandem with Cristine (after 'No Other Woman'). Sam naman, katrabaho ko sa 'Dyesebel.' So it's nothing that takes adjusting, kasi nakatrabaho ko na sila.

Q: You're working with Chris Martinez for the first time...

AC: First time ko! Grabe, ang ganda ng script niya. Ang galing niya magsulat, ang galing niya mag-direk. Napaka-specific niya sa mga shots, sa details, so sobrang nakaka-excite to be working with Direk Chris Martinez. As in, ang talino ng script! As in, nakakatawa siya! Gano'n siyang level! So sobra akong excited!

I think a lot of people naman know how he works, and he's amazing at what he does. Basta, sobra lang akong excited na maka-work siya. Iba kasi 'yung eye niya, e. Alam kong once it's edited, kaka-excite! Excited na ako!
