Usually, Jolo Revilla's greetings for Jodi Sta. Maria, like the one he posted for the actress' birthday on Friday, would draw "kilig" from their fans. And while it did, it also attracted breakup rumors.
In his message on Instagram, Revilla wrote: "I wish you all the happiness in this world that you deserve. Thank you for bringing out the best in me. Thanks for the wonderful 8 years!"
Now that may sound like par for the course, gossipy followers in the post's comments pointed out that he referred to Sta. Maria as "Jods" rather than "asawa," like he did when they marked their 81st "month-sary" back in February.
Couple that with an Instagram Stories photo he posted, which read: "Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be," and you can see where the fans are coming from with their suggestions that they may have decided to split up.
It also doesn't help that Sta. Maria celebrated her birthday this afternoon without Revilla. She spent the day in the company of the kids from a non-profit charity organization that helps children with cancer and other chronic illnesses.
Revilla and Sta. Maria first revealed their relationship in 2012. They broke up four years later, but have apparently reconciled.
They sparked marriage suggestions when Revilla called Sta. Maria his wife in an Instagram post. He said of marrying the actress: "All I can say is the right time will come, darating tayo diyan at may mga hinihintay na lang tayo."
